Hitman developer IO Interactive has spoken up to clear up some confusion regarding the possibility of a remastered version of 2006's stealth game Hitman: Blood Money.
After the developer said to a fan on Twitter that IO has "considered" remastering the 10-year-old game, PR manager Sven Liebold said in a new interview with the Daily Star that the tweet was taken out of context. IO remains committed to supporting the new episodic Hitman, and as such, Blood Money HD is "not on our radar," he explained.
"Of course the old developers that worked on Blood Money, they still love the game, they’re very attached to it," he said. "But at this moment, we're really excited where we are with the new game and we're putting all our energy and creativity into creating new stuff."
Hitman's third episode, Marrakesh, will be launching on May 31, developer IO Interactive revealed today. It follows episodes set in Paris and Sapienza; this time, the action takes place in Morocco.
"We knew that Marrakesh had to be something extraordinary, so the team set out to build a location that was both teeming with life and with things to do," IO's community manager Travis Barbour said in a post on the PlayStation Blog.
"Marrakesh has been built with a maze of alleys, a range of souks that line the medina walls, and a fully fletched shisha café," he explained. "Moving upwards, players can enjoy the shade on the signature rooftop terraces of Marrakesh."
Judging from everyone’s reactions to the move, it’s clear Hitman’s switch to an episodic format clearly wasn’t to some people’s tastes. Originally set to launch, content complete, back in December 2015, Square Enix and developer Io Interactive have revealed the final version now won’t be ready until 2017.
As you’ve probably seen, the first episode arrived today, with no less than six additional episodes arrive between now and final retail copy in 2017. Episode 2, Sapienza, lands in April, Episode 3, Marrakech, in May, before being followed up by Thailand, United States, and, finally, Japan. So, uh, if you were planning to wait until the full version you might be twiddling your thumbs for quite a while.
This is quite interesting. The team at Realm Pictures has created an interactive Hitman experience in which people control a real Agent 47 (well, real in the sense that he's played by a bald, barcoded actor) as they look for targets in a sprawling, item-filled mansion. As in the game, the participants who are sitted in a room where they can access to maps, contact the NPCs and more, take control of the Agent 47 character, telling him where to go and what to do. Also like the game, it doesn't always work out for Agent 47, if you mess up, he gets "shot" and you start over.

The open beta for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and the PlayStation Plus-exclusive beta for the new Hitman will both commence today, March 4, and run all weekend long. The Uncharted 4 beta is open to all PS4 users; no Plus membership required. While you can pre-load the 7.6 GB client right now, the beta itself does not start until 9 AM PST / 12 PM EST. It ends on Sunday, March 6, at 11:59 PM PST / 2:59 AM EST on March 7.
A new trailer for Square Enix's upcoming Hitman game will be released this coming Saturday (exciting right?), December 5, the publisher has revealed. A tweet from the Hitman Twitter account says it will be a "Hitman Beta" trailer, indicating it will show off the content that will be available in the upcoming PlayStation 4 and PC beta.
