Star Wars Battlefront Experience Advancing to PlayStation VR

   Sony has revealed that a Star Wars Battlefront experience is expected to arrive on PlayStation VR as part of a partnership between Sony and EA. The announcement was made at the platform holder's GDC presentation focusing on its upcoming virtual reality headset. Further details were not available, but Andrew House, president of Sony Computer Entertainment, described it as a "cinematic gaming experience" set in EA and DICE's first-person shooter.

   Publisher, Electronic Arts, has teased what appears to be an upcoming new game mode in its online shooter Star Wars Battlefront. On Monday, the corporation released a YouTube video that promoted Battlefront's latest free update - the video is unlisted, however, meaning it can't be discovered by search nor by browsing.

     EA has disclosed that the March update for Star Wars : Battlefront is now available on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. The update comes with the addition of a  Rebel Depot on Tatooine as a new Survival Mission, and brings Survivors of Endor to the Walker Assault, Supremacy, and Turning Point modes. The next major expansion for Star Wars Battlefront is likely to be Outer Rim, which will also be the first paid add-on for the game. Outer Rim will feature new maps, weapons, heroes, and an "all-new mode."

Star Wars Battlefront Will Have "Incredibly Long" Tail, EA Says

Just like Battlefield 4, EA's new shooter Star Wars Battlefront will remain famous a year after launch or maybe even longer. That's according to EA COO Peter Moore, who said Battlefront's numerous expansion packs should help keep people interested for at least the next year, while sales of the base game will continue to be strong as buzz builds around Star Wars: The Force Awakens and the holiday shopping season.

PlayStation has unveiled a new live-action trailer for the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront on its YouTube channel. The video features a battle taking place on Hoth, with TIE Fighters and AT-AT walkers making appearances. While the trailer does have a disclaimer stating that the footage shown is "not actual gameplay," there are some neat special effects employed, as well as a throwback to long-time loyal Star Wars fans.
