Developer Stardock has announced that Ashes of the Singularity will be busting out of Early Access and launching proper this very month. The news comes via a swanky new cinematic launch date trailer, confirming the war begins on March 31st. The basic setup for why you’ll be doing this is huge advances in human technology. Before long we’re butting heads with each other and artificial intelligence out in the depths of space, getting stuck into planetary warfare. Ashes of the Singularity promotes massive armies then, which could prove taxing on hardware, ranging from tiny vehicles to giant kilometre-long Dreadnoughts.
The final game will have several playable factions, a single-player campaign, ranked and custom multiplayer.
Ashes of the Singularity is easily one of the most impressive strategy games we've ever seen visually. On that basis alone, it could be worth checking out, but we're hoping it's got the substance to go with the style when it launches on March 31st.
