Bethesda’s open-world RPG is littered with all the usual bugs and jankiness we’ve come to expect from the developers, despite a slight lack of anything new to the formula this time around. We’ve all spent far too much time glitched on computer terminals, watching dead enemies moonwalk, or just losing our heads entirely, so Bethesda's going to be tackling some of the core issues in its first Fallout 4 update.
“It's true that the freedom our games offer you can lead to unintentional consequences that are sometimes bad, when the game combines too many unexpected elements at once,” write Bethesda. “Given the scale and complexity of the systems at work, especially when allowing you to build your own settlements, we're happy that Fallout 4 is our most robust and solid release ever.”
I guess I’d have to agree there, although I don’t remember Oblivion having any glaring issues. In terms of the update, Bethesda is planning to release a beta patch on Steam, followed by a proper release, before then bringing the patch over to the console versions. They reckon this is the quickest way to get fixes out, and it means PC gamers aren’t being held back by the certification process required for console patches.
What issues would you like to see addressed in the first Fallout 4 patch?
