Borderlands 3 Teased

Today during a panel at PAX East, Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford teased some new details about the next Borderlands game. He started off by confirming that,
"Obviously, there is going to be another Borderlands." He also warned against getting too attached to that name, as he added, "We don't even know if we're going to call it that."
It was also affirmed today during the presentation that Battleborn art director Scott Kester is also the art director for Borderlands 3, or whatever it ends up being called. It was also learned that Gearbox chief creative champion Mikey Neumann, who wrote Gearbox's mainline Brothers in Arms games and voices Claptrap in Borderlands, is writing the next Borderlands.

What's the story? He joked, "Everyone dies horribly."  On a possibly more serious note, Neumann said the character Scooter from Tales from the Borderlands might be referenced in Borderlands 3. Neumann is thinking about giving Scooter a son named Scooper (who has a super high-pitched voice) who will appear in Borderlands 3. This character, created out of a desire to appease Pitchford's wife who was devastated by Scooter's fate in Tales from the Borderlands, might not make it into the new Borderlands, however, Pitchford warned.
