Unknown Worlds Has Restarted Natural Selection 2 Dev

Natural Selection 2, the fantastic standalone sequel to the marines versus aliens mod for the original Half-Life, is going back into development. Unknown Worlds launched the FPS that fused in RTS elements back in 2012, before moving on underwater survival game Subnautica.

Three years later it wants back in, and it’s restarting development of Natural Selection 2. "Unknown Worlds is getting back into Natural Selection development. We have hired a small group of community members to reform an in-house development team," wrote Hugh Jeremy of Unknown Worlds. "We are going to try some crazy stuff. We want NS2 to be huge."
So the end result is eight members of the Community Development Team have actually been hired as an official dev. team, and will begin working on new content and features for Natural Selection 2. What’s interesting is Unknown Worlds is also continuing the the community element, so “anyone will be able to contribute something to Natural Selection 2 and, if accepted, be rewarded for it."
Considering Natural Selection 2 launched a full two years ago, it’s great to see Unknown Worlds breathe new life into it. Clearly it’s got plans to make it a bigger hit, and it’s surely got one eye on the competitive scene.
