Pillars Of Eternity White March Part 2 Adds Fast-Paced Story So More Can Complete It

Paradox Interactive has announced the second Pillars of Eternity expansion pack will be releasing this winter. Which feels like they’re bending the truth slightly, because The White March - Part 2 is, to the best of my knowledge, just the second half of the first expansion they launched in August.

For most players though, it looks as if the daunting length of the campaign was a bit much, with just 9% watching the end credits roll. To tackle this, developer Obsidian has added the new Story Time mode for The White March - Part 2. For those light on time this lets players breeze through the entirety of Pillars of Eternity at a faster pace. Unfortunately Paradox hasn’t got any details on how this works, but presumably you’re given the option to auto-fight battles or possibly skip out map traversal. Pillars of Eternity: The White March - Part 2 is dropping in January 2016, and players are heading back to The Eastern Reach for new quests, new abilities and a new companion - Meneha the Barbarian. The level cap is also being bumped up from its relatively low limit of 14.

Up for more Pillars of Eternity? What do you think of the faster-paced Story Mode? Is this a feature more games should have if you just want to blast through them quickly?
