Durante And Co Release Tales Of Zestiria 30FPS Cap Fix - Now Runs At 60FPS

When Bandai Namco announced Tales of Zestiria for PC they felt the ire of thousands of gamers when they confirmed it would be locked at 30 frames per second. Despite including support for resolutions of up to 4K, anything above 30FPS wasn’t happening. Bandai Namco claimed it was impossible to implement due to animations, combat, and game balance being tied to the frame rate. The Japanese publisher said "We do this in the best interest for the players’ experience!"

It seemed like a fair enough reason to us. As it turns out though, it is possible to run Tales of Zestiria at 60 frames per second. A bunch of fans, including DSfix creator Durante, have banded together to fix some of the problems plaguing the PC port of Tales of Zestiria, including axing the 30FPS frame rate cap, adding widescreen support and reducing instances of stuttering.

The Tales of Zestiria 30FPS cap fix is based on a Batman: Arkham Knight Fix DLL (d3d9.dll), tuned to provide additional fixes specific to Bandai Namco’s JRPG. Users are reporting there are no gameplay changes as a result of fiddling with the frame rate cap, so combat and movement occurs at exactly the same rate as if you were playing at 30FPS. In addition to the above changes, Tales of Zestiria Fix 1.0.1 fixes shimmering artifacts, implements widescreen support and FOV changes, adds the option to the increase shadow detail for characters, and adds Steam Broadcasting support.
