Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Suffers Hefty Delay

Square Enix has trumpeted that Deus Ex: Mankind Divided has been delayed a full six months. Originally locked on for a February 23rd launch worldwide, it now won’t be seeing the light of day until August 23rd, 2016.

“Our aim is for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided to be a worthy successor to Human Revolution, and to improve upon that game in every way possible,” said Eidos Montreal’s head of studio David Anfossi. “I know that expectations are extremely high, and we not only want to meet those expectations, but exceed them.
“So please be patient with us a little longer, and thanks as always for your passion and support. We’re determined to deliver the best game we can.”

Perhaps most frustrating is we were hoping Deus Ex: Mankind Divided would be the first proper DirectX 12 title, so it's disappointing from a tech point of view to see the slip. It's hard to argue with if it results in a better game, though. Only a few weeks ago, February 23rd seemed like a terrific day. Now Deus Ex: Mankind Divided has scarpered and Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst is gone. So then, if you're after Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, you're now going to have to wait a full year until August 23rd, 2016, when it arrives on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
