Bethesda Take On Hearthstone With Elder Scrolls Legends Beta Signups And First Gameplay

Hearthstone might have come along and dominated the world of CCGs, but now it’s the turn of Bethesda to throw its hat into the ring. Bethesda has announced The Elder Scrolls: Legends beta is officially live, and players can sign up now for a chance to play. The Elder Scrolls Legends is a collectible card game based on Bethesda's ambitious open-world role-playing series. Players build decks composed of various characters and enemies from Elder Scrolls lore, battling foes over various game modes, including both online play and an offline story mode.
“As a fan of digital strategy card games, I’m especially excited about having people play Legends,” said Pete Hines, VP of PR and marketing at Bethesda.. “We’re looking forward to hearing their feedback and having them help us shape the future of the game. “

It’s good to see Bethesda try this, and I hope it’s great, but The Elder Scrolls isn’t exactly a series packed with fantastic characterisation. Off the top of my head I can only remember the names of Joffrey and Divayth from the entire series, making it little difficult to drum up interest in the cards themselves.

Anyway you can head over to the official site now to join the beta and give it a go. At the moment The Elder Scrolls Legends is only available on PC, but there is a mobile version in the works.

Can Elder Scrolls Legends take on the might of Hearthstone? Let us know what you think!
