No Storybook Ending - Fable Legends Delayed Until Spring 2016

They’ve taken their sweet time telling us, but Fable Legends has officially been delayed and will not be launching in 2016. Lionhead Studios had originally said the free-to-play asymmetric RPG would be available for everyone to play this holiday. We haven’t seen much of Fable Legends considering how soon it was meant to be out, so chalk this one up as another predictable delay.

Fable Legends’ open beta test will now be running in Spring 2016, across both Xbox One and Windows 10. In the meantime Lionhead is inviting an additional 100,000 players to the closed beta test, so keep an eye on your inbox if you signed up, or register your interest here. As per usual, Lionhead has been forced to trot out an excuse for the delay, other than the obvious ‘it’s not finished yet’. “To be honest, we didn’t anticipate just how big Fable Legends is becoming. It’s simply the most ambitious game we’ve ever created at Lionhead”. Ah, the classic ‘this is far more ambitious than we had ever’ imagined line. Tick.

“We’ve built a unique and innovative multiplayer experience combining RPG and RTS gameplay which allows you to play, and use your gear seamlessly, across Xbox One and Windows 10. On top of this, we’ve built a beautiful new world full of grand stories and adventures. And it’s taking more time than we thought.”
