Hideo Kojima will be working alongside Sony in the creation of his new game and says that he's "thrilled to embark on creating a new franchise." Kojima revealed in a tweet today that his contract with Konami has ended. He said he's "committed to be involved in creative activities for as long as [he lives]."
Kojima's new studio is called Kojima Productions, which was the name of his studio while he worked for Konami. No news has been revealed about his future game, other than a tweet from Geoff Keighley, which announced it will be a console exclusive to PlayStation. This follows months of news about Kojima's status with his ex-employer Konami. Keighley revealed at The Game Awards that lawyers were keeping Kojima from attending the show, at which his game Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain won Best Score/Soundtrack and Best Action/Adventure game. And when it was reported that he had left the company back in November, Konami denied the claims, saying he was on vacation.
