Battle Of Jakku Maps Launch Today

With just over two weeks to go until The Force Awakens arrives, hype levels are rising. DICE is capitalising on this with the launch of some tie-in maps for Star Wars: Battlefront, available free today for those who pre-ordered the base game. The rest of us with a bit a patience will have to wait until December 8th,

EA and DICE have pushed out a dramatic launch trailer for the DLC, portraying the impressive Battle of Jakku, which takes places 29 years before the events of the upcoming movie. It brings with it a pair of new maps set on the rocky planet; one large scale and the other more intimate. The planet is going to be playable across all modes, but it also introduces the new Turning Point 40 player mode. This game type has a team of Rebels trying to push back Imperials and take control points, with the eventual aim of capturing the Imperial base. The Imperials aren’t able to capture points so it’s all about digging in and fending off the Rebel scum until the clock ticks down.
