Rocksteady Hiring For Unreal Engine 4 Powered Next Game In Conjunction With DC

British developer, Rocksteady, is advertising for new staff, and it looks as if it’s finally moving on from Unreal Engine 3 for their next project. The job posting for a Senior VFX Artists states they’re looking for someone who has an excellent knowledge of 3D engines, explicitly citing Unreal engine 4 as an example. They’re also looking for a trio of additional engine programmers.

Work on the next Rocksteady title probably would have began as soon as Batman: Arkham Knight was out the door, if not before, so this job posting will almost certainly be in regards to that. The last we heard from Rocksteady was that Batman: Arkham Knight would be the last Arkham game it created, so attention inevitably turns to what other projects they could be working. Rocksteady’s Dax Ginn said last year “Anything we do is a collective decision between Rocksteady, Warner Brothers, and DC Comics”, so it sounds as if they’re staying in the realm of superheroes.

To hit a large enough audience they’ll need to base it around one of the biggies. Some have suggested it could be a Superman game. Many have tried, and all have failed, often spectacularly, to bring the Man of Steel to videogames, but there’s few we’d trust more than Rocksteady.
