Overwatch Will Not Have Cross-Platform Play For Fear Of PC Gamers Dominating

Over the weekend Blizzard announced Overwatch would be coming to consoles as well as PC. I’d previously assumed Blizzard’s squad-based shooter would be PC exclusive, and we also assumed it would be free-to-play. We were wrong on both counts. Where's The Mole when you need him.
The prospect of PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 face-offs was a tantalizing proposition, but Blizzard has come out and said there will be no cross-platform play whatsoever in Overwatch. Rocket League managed it, so what’s the reasoning? Well, as it turns out, Blizzard hasn’t included it because it reckons PC gamers would destroy console players with their keyboard and mouse setups.

“It’s really difficult,” said Blizzard senior designer Jeremy Craig at BlizzCon. “From a gameplay standpoint, mouse and keyboard has a little bit of an advantage in terms of being able to spin really quickly. And our game is pretty fast-paced. It just felt like there was a little bit too much of an advantage.
“It just seems like the console crowd is going to love playing against the console people; the PC people will love playing against PC people.”
