Life Is Feudal Batters Its Way Out Of Early Access

Life is Feudal is probably a familiar face for Early Access fans, cropping up on Steam some months ago. Now it’s at last cast of its beta shackles and and properly released, alongside a launch trailer. By my calculations, Life is Feudal: Your Own is just about the only survival game in existence that has ever left Early Access, which is quite something. The less said about DayZ the better.

Don’t let the name fool you, though, this is nothing like Dontnod’s teen drama 'Life is Strange', oh no. Life is Feudal: Your Own is about brutal hacking and slashing throughout a giant multiplayer medieval sandbox. You can experience all the drudgery of life in the dark ages, eking out an existence from your meager crops, terraforming the world at your will, or fending off enemy raids from your mighty castle. We must admit it looks pretty intriguing. There’s a lot going on here and it looks as if you can spend hour upon hour shaping the world to your will. While Life is Feudal does appear massively open-world though, the map is relatively small at 9 km square. This is enough room to support up to 64-players in a mini persistent world however, with leveling up, permadeath, and total freedom to build and terraform the world. Survival fans probably know the formula by now, but Life is Feudal looks like a decent stab at a medieval version.
