Helldivers is out in December for PC, and this is interesting for two reasons. Firstly, Helldivers is a heck of a good co-op action game. Secondly, it's a Sony published (previously) PlayStation exclusive; marking the first time Sony Computer Entertainment has published one of its first-party games on PC. If Helldivers does well enough, it could even open the door for further PlayStation exclusives making the jump.
It's from Arrowhead Games, the folks behind Magicka, and it's a properly hardcore twinstick shooter in which you and your band of fellow Helldivers must work through a massive replayable campaign, blasting down the alien hordes. When I say hardcore I mean it as well - Helldivers' friendly fire has been the death of me many a time. Before you lock and load and pre-order the Sony-publisher shooter, have a quick look at the official Helldivers system requirements to see if your rig's up to it.
Helldivers Minimum System Requirements
- OS: Windows Vista 32-bit
- CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E4600 2.4GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5400+ 2.6GHz
- RAM: 4GB System Memory
- GPU RAM: 512MB Video Memory
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce 9800 GTX or AMD Radeon HD 2600 XT
- DX: DirectX 10
- HDD: 7GB Free Hard Drive Space
Helldivers Recommended System Requirements
- OS: Windows 7 64-bit
- CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4 GHz or AMD Phenom II X2 545 3.0 GHz
- RAM: 4GB System Memory
- GPU RAM: 1024MB Video Memory
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 or AMD Radeon HD 5870
As well as being on PlayStation 4, Helldivers also launched on Sony's current handheld the PlayStation Vita, meaning we've got some nice and low system requirements here. Helldivers minimum system requirements really are down at the lowest end we get these days, so it should mean most people are coved. Being a twin-stick shooter it's all about fast-paced reactions though, so you're going to want to target a locked frame rate. Preferably 60 FPS.
Moving onto the recommended requirements for Helldivers and the CPU demands are extremely low indeed. Very few rigs are going to have trouble with the CPU demands here, they're getting on for a decade old now and well outstripped by even the most basic modern processors. GPUs is a bit of a different story, but the GeForce GTX 460 or Radeon HD 5870 are setting benchmarks on fire these days, so most should have Helldivers covered easily.
