Gears Of War 4 Is Coming To PC According To Game UK Listing

In terms of upcoming game releases we don’t yet know about, Game UK has probably got a pretty good inside track. It’s the UK’s largest game retailer and it seldom throws up the wrong listings. Which is why it’s rather intriguing to find out it’s listing Gears of War 4 as also coming to PC.

We already know Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is coming to PC in all its glory, but this could well be just the start of Microsoft’s cover-based shooter franchise finding a new home. The Ultimate Edition would be the perfect game to test the waters and see if PC gamers are receptive to a new Gears, which is why we could see this as a distinct possibility. Game UK lists Gears of War 4 as a 2016 launch, assuming The Coalition don’t hit any snags along the way, when it will arrive on Xbox One, but “also available on… PC DVD”.

Retailers often make mistakes of course, but Game hasn't been known to make incorrect listings recently. They’re certainly privy to private information like this, and it would be an interesting development on Microsoft’s part. Microsoft’s head of gaming Phil Spencer has repeatedly said they plan on bringing more titles to PC, but he said at E3 that it would take time to see the fruits of this particular venture. Gears of War 4 seems like the obvious choice if Microsoft were to start anywhere with cross-platform launches.
