Nobody seemed like they could care less about Overwatch and then BlizzCon and a closed beta arrived and it all seemed to change. Those lucky few who managed to have a go at playing the class-based shooter raved about Blizzard’s creation, with plenty saying its gameplay bridged the gap between the likes of Team Fortress 2 and Heroes of the Storm, with a MOBA-esque flow to proceedings.
Now it looks like you might not have to glumly watch on as others have all the fun, because Blizzard’s preparing a larger-scale Overwatch beta set to go live this very weekend. Blizzard announced it’ll be running from tomorrow, November 20th, at 9AM PST, through to Monday November 23rd at 9AM PST. It’s still invite only but you’re chances of entry are far greater, with “a lot more players [to be invited] in North America and Europe”. The objective, Blizzard says, is to “help Blizzard stress test its server hardware and technology... and make a few Plays of the Game in the process." Interestingly all over Overwatch’s 21 characters will be available to mess around on three maps, so there’s going to be plenty here to get busy with.
