PC Gamers Can Gain Access To Street Fighter V Beta From October 22
Fighting game fans on PC are getting a bit of a treat early next year, as Street Fighter V's arriving day and date with the PlayStation 4 version. Sony’s still trumpeting it as an ‘exclusive’, but PC players will be able to square off in cross-platform play against their console counterparts.
Ahead of then Capcom’s busy getting testing. A second Street Fighter 5 beta test has been announced following August’s disastrous PS4 stress test. This time around PC gamers are invited, beginning from October 22nd and running through until October 25th. Fingers crossed it actually works this time. It’s a closed beta but players can gain access by pre-ordering a copy of Street Fighter V on PlayStation 4 or PC. It’s a shady practice of which I’m not really a fan; bribing players to boost pre-order numbers for what is, at this stage, a relatively unknown quantity. On Steam we have refunds at least, so if you’re desperate to have a look at what SFV has in store then my advice would be to pre-order, get your code and then ask for a refund. Simple. Once you’re in to the Street Fighter 5 beta you’ll have access to a bunch of characters playable online. This begins with Ken, Vega, R. Mika, and Necalli, before Rashid and Karin are added later during the beta testing period. The Street Fighter fan base tends to be a little fervent so expect some teething problems has hundreds of thousands of players try to cram in, and if possible try and play outside of peak US times.
