Dino Game Ark: Survival Evolved Has Now Sold This Many Copies

Ark: Survival Evolved, the dinosaur-themed survival game from Studio Wildcard, has reached a new sales milestone. Co-founder and creative director Jesse Rapczak revealed as part of a Reddit Ask Me Anything session this week that the game has now sold more than 2 million copies, up from 1 million in July.

This is a particularly noteworthy achievement, given that Ark is not even a finished game. It remains an Steam Early Access game for PC, with the full version not expected to launch until summer 2016. Ark is set to launch for Xbox One this winter through the Game Preview program, while the full version is slated to arrive in 2016 for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The game sells for $30 on Steam, meaning it has generated as much as $60 million in revenue, though the game has been discounted through sales, such as the one going on right now on Steam.
