Bandai Namco has released a selection of high-resolution screenshots for From Software's Dark Souls 3. The images are geared towards showing off the game's online aspects, and prominently featuring Red Phantoms in many of them.
As any seasoned Souls player will know, Red Phantoms are linked to the series' player-versus-player gameplay. These malicious apparitions appear when another player is invading your world, usually with a goal to murder you. Also featured in the screenshots are White Phantoms, which are other players summoned for jolly co-operation. These images look to be taken from the same area Bandai Namco and From Software have been showing off in media and allowing people to play to events such as Gamescom. It is also likely the one that will be included in the Dark Souls 3 beta. The Dark Souls 3 network test beta is now available to download from the North American PlayStation Store, but you'll need to have signed up for access and have been selected to play it when it begins. The test has only been announced for the PlayStation 4 and is scheduled to last until October 18 in both North America and Japan. A European stress test has not been announced yet.
