Batman: Arkham Knight PC Available Again by "End of October," Says Warner Bros.

Batman: Arkham Knight will be available to purchase on PC again by the "end of October," according to publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.Posting on the game's Steam page, community admin Yorick said the teams working on improving the performance of the PC version are still implementing fixes and tweaks, with the goal of an October re-release planned.

"As many of you know, we released a major patch for Batman: Arkham Knight PC a few weeks ago. While there were significant performance improvements made to the game, the teams are continuing to work on the additional updates that were outlined in our previous post," he said. "We expect these updates to be ready at the end of October, at which time the PC version will be made available for purchase. In addition, support for all DLC that has been released for the console versions will be in place." Shortly after its release, the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight was pulled from store shelves and sales on digital platforms such as Steam were suspended. This was due to significant graphical and performance bugs and glitches. "We want to apologize to those of you who are experiencing performance issues with Batman: Arkham Knight on PC," Warner Bros. said in a statement at the time. "We take these issues very seriously and have therefore decided to suspend future game sales of the PC version while we work to address these issues to satisfy our quality standards."

In the days following the release of Arkham Knight on PC, and the surfacing of its numerous technical issues, it was revealed the port was developed by a small external team while principal developer Rocksteady focused on the console versions. Rocksteady released a statement saying it would work on remedying the port's problems and, as promised, a patch addressing many of its issues has since been released. The update fixes frame rate hitches, optimises VRAM usage, improves GPU performance, cleans up textures, and more.
