Upcoming Game Releases: WWE 2k16

WWE 2K16 is an upcoming professional wrestling video game in development by Yuke's and Visual Concepts. It will be published by 2K Sports for the PlayStation 3 (PS3), PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox 360, and Xbox One. It will be the seventeenth game in the WWE games series (third under the "WWE 2K" banner), and is the follow up to WWE 2K15. WWE 2K16 is scheduled for release on Oct. 27, 2015, in North America and on Oct. 30, 2015, internationally

The game was officially announced on June 16, 2015, with WWE and 2K revealing the first six Superstars and Divas, who would be included on the game's roster.
On July 6, 2015, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin was announced as the cover superstar. On July 27, 2015, 2K released the first official screenshot of the game, the Monday Night Raw announce table with John Bradshaw Layfield's cowboy hat sitting on it. On August 4, 2015, IGN revealed the first screenshots, gameplay and entrances for WWE 2K16 at Gamescom.

Step into the ring for the 2016 edition of WWE wrestling action! WWE 2K16 delivers authentic, high-powered and hard-hitting action, including fan-favorite features and new WWE Superstars, Divas and Legends, gameplay innovations, presentation updates and more. Offering more than 120 unique playable characters, including cover Superstar Stone Cold Steve Austin alongside Seth Rollins, Daniel Bryan, Dean Ambrose, Bad News Barrett, Paige and Finn Bálor, WWE 2K16 includes the largest roster in WWE games history!   Reversals have been changed so players have a set amount of reversals per match, preventing players from spamming reversals all match.

There are no loading screens between entrances, and players have the ability to attack other wrestlers during their entrance. Referee and manager AI has been improved. Pins and submissions have been reworked and improved, with a new system replacing the previous one, allowing for fairer breakouts and newer animations have also been added.  Chain grappling is back, and there are more transitions and moves now to reflect the abilities of the wrestlers involved. Chain grapples are also now impacted more by your wrestler's attribute values, and there can even be ties, resulting in breaks or cheap parting shots. More exciting is the addition of "working" grapples where the initiating wrestler can rest up and get some stamina back while draining his opponent's. It's a neat way of taking an element of in-ring performance and turning it into a useful gameplay mechanic.

The match types include ladder tag team, handicap tag team, and tornado tag matches, all of which were removed in 2K15, return in 2K16. Also, the Create a Diva, Create a Show, Create an Arena, and Create a Championship, features that were in previous games but removed in WWE 2K15, are back in 2K16.
