Fly X-Wing or TIE Fighter from Star Wars in Halo 5 With This Fan Creation
Following the Halo 5: Guardians Star Wars podracing Forge mode comes another one themed around the sci-fi universe. This one lets you battle in space. Xbox Live user CaptainDireWolf, who made the podracing mod, is behind this one as well. It's called "Starfighter Combat," and it supports 2-12 players. You play on a team of either X-wings or TIE fighters, and the object is simple: take out your enemies using any means necessary.

PSA: Halo 5 Firefight Beta Begins Today
Halo 5 players can check out an in-development version of the sci-fi game's new Warzone Firefight mode starting today as part of a beta test. As announced previously, the beta will run April 14-18. If you already own Halo 5, no further download is required. You'll find the Warzone Firefight mode in the "Warzone" playlist when it goes live later today, designer David Ellis said on Twitter.

Halo 5's Next Free DLC Forwarded to April
Since its launch, Halo 5: Guardians which launched in October has seen the release of a new, free update for the Xbox One shooter every month. New content arrived in November (The Battle of Shadow and Light), December (Cartographer's Gift), January (Infinity's Armor), and February (Hammer Storm). However, 343 has now confirmed that March's content drop, Ghosts of Meridian, won't make it out until early April.
"Typically, we've released our new content in the middle or end of each month, and this one misses that by just a few days," 343 said in a blog post. "But the terrifying psychological effect of missing that exact monthly cadence cannot be denied!"

"Without Halo, Xbox isn't here."
The release of Halo 5: Guardians represents an "important milestone" for the Xbox One, that is according to Xbox boss, Phil Spencer. Speaking during the Halo 5 livestream, Spencer eulogized the development team at 343 Industries for their work on the game, which he labeled a "purpose-built" Halo title.

343 Industries Think There Is Plenty Of Chance Halo 5 Could Come To PC
343 Industries’ franchise director Frank O’Connor has been chatting about all things Halo 5, revealing there is a chance that Master Chief’s latest galactic jaunt could see the light of day in PC land. Up until now the official word from Microsoft was that Halo 5: Guardians would never be arriving on PC.

Halo 5 to Be displayed on World's Biggest Aerial Screen
Xbox Australia has announced plans to show the first 15 minutes of the Halo 5: Guardians campaign as it is played on the world's largest aerial screen, flown 2,000 feet (609 metres) above Sydney's coastline.

Halo 5 File Size and Day One Update Revealed
Like other AAA games, Microsoft's Halo 5: Guardians will require players to download a day one update. Now, developer 343 Industries has revealed the size of the update: 9 GB.

Microsoft has announced a partnership with YouTube for a Halo 5: Guardians event that it's likening to a New Year's Even countdown. Instead of another year, this countdown celebrates the release of Halo 5.
Halo 5 Pre-Load Now Available
Pre-loading for Xbox One shooter Halo 5: Guardians has begun. Everyone who preordered a digital copy from the Xbox Store can now pre-load the game so it's ready to go the second it unlocks on October 27. Pre-loading works with the standard $60 version of Halo 5, as well as its $90 Digital Deluxe edition.
Halo 5 Achievements Revealed, See Them All Here
Microsoft has announced the full lineup of achievements for Halo 5: Guardians. At launch, there will be 65 to unlock, worth a total 1,000 Gamerscore. These run across the game's 15 campaign missions as well as its multiplayer modes, including traditional Slayer and the new, 24-player Warzone.

Halo 5's Stats API Will Be Available to Everyone
In addition to announcing the launch day Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer playlists today, developer 343 Industries revealed that it is opening up the game's application program interface (API) for everyone. What this means is that anyone can take player statistics from the game to build new websites or apps. 343 says giving players access to game data was a "top priority" during the course of Halo 5's development.

Halo 5's Launch Trailer pits Master Chief against Agent Locke
Microsoft has published the "launch gameplay trailer" for Halo 5: Guardians, setting up the sci-fi shooter's dramatic story which pits Master Chief against Spartan Locke. In the early events of Halo 5, Chief goes rogue. Locke and his team are tasked with bringing him in, and as such, "the hero becomes the hunted."

After Halo 5, the Galaxy "Will Never Be the Same"
Although Microsoft is keeping specifics under wraps, the company now says the story events set into motion in Halo 5: Guardians will forever change the overall universe in "really important ways." After the events of Halo 5, the story "will never be the same," developers said as part of a new interview.
All Xbox One Controllers Will Eventually Support Button-Mapping
Button-mapping won't be exclusive to the $150 Xbox One Elite controller that ships later this month. Microsoft's Mike Ybarra confirmed today on Twitter that the feature is coming to all Xbox One controllers sometime down the road through an update, though it's not immediately clear when that will happen. Asked why controller button reconfiguration is only available for the Elite controller, Ybarra said (via Polygon), "It's coming for all controllers soon."
Newly designed HALO vehicles
Ahead of its release later this month, 343 Industries has disclosed new details about some of the Covenant vehicles players will discover in Halo 5: Guardians. In its recent Canon Fodder blog post, 343 shared renders of the enemy ships and explained some of their new features and functionality. There's a reason these trademark Halo vehicles, such as the Banshee and Wraith, look and perform differently than the last time we saw them.
