HardWest system requirements

               
Set in the rootin' tootin' Wild West, the good, the bad and the ugly clash in a supernatural battle of epic segments. Over the course of the story campaign and 40 custom-made missions, players take control of squads ranging from lone rangers up to four members, through what looks to be some intense turn-based combat.

You'll be able to paint the town red with an array of Western-influence special abilities, such as deadly long-range shots ricocheting around corners using metal objects. Where Hard West differs from most Westerns though is the paranormal influence. Once upon a time in the 'weird' west, demons and monsters are invading, controlled by satanic cults. It's some crazy influence and not something we've ever seen attempted before, and it's coming out on November 4th. Before you grab a fistful of dollars and pick up Hard West though, make sure you don't need a few dollars for more an upgrade first by checking out the official Hard West system requirements.

Hard West Recommended System Requirements

• CPU: Intel Core i5-2320 3.0 GHz or AMD Athlon II X4 645 3.1 GHz
• GPU RAM: 1GB Graphics Memory
• GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti or AMD Radeon R7 260X
• HDD: 6GB Free Hard Drive Space

These system requirements fall roughly in line with where we'd expect, despite a few oddities. Down at the lower end, Hard West's minimum system requirements seem extremely reasonable for the most part. It's a top-down tactical shooter so it wouldn't benefit much from insane texture detail and so a pair of extremely modest graphics cards with just 512MB video memory will do the job. Both the AMD and Intel CPUs are ancient by today's standards as well. 

The one stumbling point for some will be the 6GB RAM requirement as a minimum. We haven't had a chance to go hands on yet with Hard West, but this seems a little steep. 6GB is the same minimum requirement as Assassin's Creed Unity, which seems a little insane when you look at Hard West. Up to the recommended and it's more of the same. You can choose to have a marginally larger install which i'd certainly recommend. This will no doubt feature higher-resolution textures for High West which will result in a much better looking game. It's one of those games where you don't need to be afraid to crank up the graphics and sacrifice the frame rate either. A turn-based game usually plays perfectly even down at 20fps, but aim for around 30.
