Upcoming Game Releases: Hitman 6

HITMAN 6 (2015)

Hitman is an action-adventure stealth video game that is currently under development by IO Interactive and will be published by Square Enix for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 8 December 2015. It will be the sixth entry in the Hitman video game series
.

Play as globetrotting Agent 47 at the prime of his career -- the apex predator stalking his prey across the world, in the brutal stealth action game Hitman. Building a new foundation for the Hitman franchise, you will find Agent 47 here as the aspirational assassin at the absolute peak of his power. As an operative of the International Contract Agency, his job is to take out high-profile targets all over the world, supported by his long-time handler Diana Burnwood. As the game encourages creativity -  you have the power and intelligence of Agent 47 at your fingertips, and it is your choice whether to use brute force or orchestrate a genuine masterpiece of assassination - players are allowed to use multiple ways to complete their objectives. For instance, they can utilize long-ranged weapons like sniper rifle to snipe their targets from a long distance, eliminate their targets directly by using explosives or the melee weapons featured in the game, such as axes and katanas. Players can also create distractions and disguise the assassinations by creating some seemingly accidental incidents. Once enemies are defeated, players can take their outfits and disguise themselves as them, which allows players to gain access to restricted areas more easily.  Bonuses like new gadgets will be awarded to players in accordance to their performance during missions.

Broadcast contract events add unique and vital missions to the Hitman experience over that time -- imagine a target appearing for every player in the world, for a limited time only. Where your one shot counts. And when that target is gone, it is gone forever - Some missions are time-limited and will only appear once. If players fail to complete these missions in time, they will not be able to complete it again. The actions of the non-playable characters in the game also impacts the game. For instance, players can gain more information about the position of their target through listening to a news report. The level-design of the game features a structure similar to that of Hitman: Blood Money as opposed to the linear structure of Hitman: Absolution. Every level in the game is a small sandbox which can be explored by players. Levels are also larger in Hitman, in which the maps in the game will be "six to seven times larger than the biggest levels in Absolution". Levels accommodate about 300 non-playable characters, with each having different routines and will react differently with players' actions. The checkpoint system from Absolution has also been dropped. Players can save their game anytime during missions. Contracts mode also return in Hitman. Players can create scenarios and assassination targets. These scenarios and targets can be shared with other players. Instinct mode, which was introduced in Absolution, also returns and will be simplified. Each location in the game is a living sandbox, a place where every NPC has a name and every room matters. Players have complete freedom of approach over how, where and when you decide to take out your target. An episodic structure for Hitman means an ongoing and evolving game which plays out over the course of a year, with a finale that brings the story arc together.

According to developers, the game will not be a complete reboot or prequel but will focus more on delivering better sandbox mechanics in a wide variety of huge maps. Agent 47 can now use a crowbar or a lockpick to open doors. The crowbars will unlock doors faster but will alert anyone nearby while the lockpick enables a stealthy opening. The instinct feature will also return but will be toned down.
