Game reviews : Battlefield hardline
Battlefield Hardline is a first-person shooter video game developed by Visceral Games in collaboration with EA Digital Illusions CE and published by Electronic Arts
. It was released in March 2015 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Unlike the previous games in the Battlefield series, Hardline's main focus is on crime, heist and policing elements instead of military warfare.
Miami is embroiled in a war against drugs and Officer Nicholas 'Nick' Mendoza has just made detective. Alongside his partner, veteran detective Khai Minh Dao, he follows the drug supply chain from the streets to the source. In a series of increasingly off-the-books cases the two detectives come to realize that power and corruption can affect both sides of the law.
The game focuses on the 'war on crime', which is a major break away from the military warfare that has characterized Battlefield games. Therefore, the main factions in Hardline are the police Special Response Units and criminals. Players have access to various military-grade weapons and vehicles, such as the Lenco BearCat, as well as having police equipment such as tasers and handcuffs. As Officer Nick Mendoza, you deal with themes of greed and corruption within the police force, and frequently find yourself exchanging fire with swarms of well-funded cartel thugs on the outside. The progression of the game follows the unfolding of Mendoza’s journey of self-discovery.
From episode to episode, you’re wielding a police badge that can be used to arrest criminals, an advanced police intelligence scanner that tags enemies and high-level targets carrying outstanding warrants, and a Taser for when you want the arrest, but the situation is deteriorating fast.
Battlefield Hardline features a total of seven game modes. Two are returning from previous Battlefield games, while the other five are new twists on old game modes or brand new all together!
Blood Money- is an objective game mode that pits cops and criminals against each other in a fight to seize a large sum of money from the opposing team.
Conquest- is an objective game mode where two teams fight over control of several flag set around the map.
Crosshair- is a half objective and half death match game mode. The cops must escort a VIP to an extraction point, while the criminals fight to eliminate him before the time runs out. No vehicles, and no respawns!
Heist- is an objective game mode where the criminals try and blow open a vault and escape with the cash. Meanwhile the cops try to prevent the robbery and the criminal's escape.
Hotwire- is a game mode where cops chase down criminals at high speeds across expansive environments.
Rescue- is an objective game mode where the authorities try and save hostages from their captives.
Team Deathmatch- is a game mode where two teams fight to the death. No vehicles allowed!
While the game possesses action packed sequences, stealth element, brilliant graphics, detailed single-player campaign, compelling and fast-paced multiplayer and the Heist mode, which requires players to utilize team work, surprising comedic moments, decent plot, voice-acting and animation, likeable characters, well-designed levels, realistic weapons and audio,it should also be noted that the story is a bit uninteresting, the characters are just flat and the campaign was poorly presented, but this doesn't dispute the truth that Battlefield: Hardline is a really great game!.
