Mad Max is a game being developed by Avalanche studios and will
be published by Warner Bros interactive Entertainment. It will be released on the 1st of september for linux, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and xbox one (playstation 3 and xbox 360 versions were cancelled due to hardware restrictions). Its genre is set to be action/adventure and also features 'vehicular combat'. Join Max Rockatansky in this open world, third person video game as he embarks on a journey to reclaim his stolen interceptor from a deadly gang of marauders.
The game world is divided into several regions, each having its own unique villain, backstory and landscape. Presenting a post-apocalytic wide wasteland, filled with terrains such as canyons, caves and deserts, where mad Max, a lone ranger is attacked by a group of bandits who run him off the road and strip him of his weapons, clothes, supplies and his car, leaving him alone too die. Max wanders in the desert and meets a hunchbacked mechanic named chumbucket, who is bent (in the back too) on creating the "perfect vehicle". Chum provides guidance to max on how best to complete his objectives. He also repairs the magnum opus when the player exits the car.
Mad max features a variety of weapons, although the shotgun is his favourite weapon. It lays heavy emphasis on vehicular combat. So, players are required to customize their magnum opus with different weapons which can be added to the car. Weapons such as a flamethrower, a mounted cannon and a grappling hook can be added to the magnum opus. Ammo is scarce here and players have to be smart when using their weapons. In fact, most resources are scarce except gas as the game involves a lot of driving. To survive, max can eat small rodents and maggots from decomposing corpses to replenish his health.
